The '/X' equipment type will prevent you from flying into Class A and B airspaces, including Boston, without prior permission from air traffic controllers. Only file this equipment type if the non-default aircraft you are flying does not have a transponder, and you plan not to use your pilot client to simulate the functions of the transponder.
